American Indian Services

AIS is a non-profit charity located in Salt Lake City. Something that sets us apart from many other non-profits is that all of our administrative expenses are covered by our generous board members. This means that every donation we receive goes directly to a Native American seeking an education.

Association of American Indian Affairs

AAIA is a national Indian organization headquartered in Maryland. We are governed by an all-Native American Board of Directors from across the country. Our programs fall into three main categories: youth/education, cultural preservation, and sovereignty. AAIA's Scholarship Recipients are awarded a scholarship twice per year until they graduate, as long as the student maintains a strong GPA and status as a full-time student. The AAIA scholarship focuses on students who wish to serve their communities and Indian Country as a whole. Look for AAIA's Scholarship Program Application in mid-May of every year on our website. AAIA will open up the application process for 30 days.

Catching the Dream

The mission of Catching the Dream, founded in 1986, is to help improve the quality of life in Indian communities through the higher education of Indian people. We provide scholarship funds for students who demonstrate academic achievement, clearly defined goals, leadership, the determination to succeed, and the desire to return to their communities and help others realize their dreams. We assist Indian schools in preparing students for success in college.

Catching the Dream works in collaboration with other groups concerned with improving Native American education. For example, we work cooperatively with two-year tribal colleges by helping qualified graduates further their education. We provide supplementary scholarship funding for those students who have received financial assistance from other sources. We ask students to apply for all sources of funding for which they are eligible. Once we select students, they are guaranteed funding for four years and beyond should they go on to graduate degrees. They never have to apply again. We ask students to contact us early in their senior year of high school or even as early as their freshman year.
