What Are Clinical Laboratory Services?
Clinical laboratory services include tests performed on body specimens, such as blood or urine. These tests help providers:
- Detect illness or infection
- Confirm a diagnosis
- Monitor chronic conditions
- Track how well medications or treatments are working
- Support preventive care and wellness plans Oyate Health Center
Lab tests are a routine but powerful tool in healthcare—and you can always ask your provider or lab team what a test is for, what to expect, and how you’ll receive results
What to Expect
When you’re scheduled for lab work or your provider orders testing, you may be asked to:
- Check in and verify your information
- Provide a specimen (blood draw, urine sample, etc.)
- Follow any instructions from your provider (for example: fasting before a test)
Your provider will review your results with you and talk through next steps.
Helping You and Your Provider Make Decisions
Lab results help your care team make informed choices – whether you need additional testing, a change in medication, follow-up care, or reassurance that your health is improving.
We work as part of OHC’s broader team of services, supporting care across the clinic.
